The Bible Comes to Life
A touring exhibition with models, costumes and artefacts that will bring the places and peoples of the bible to life.
This event offers a rare opportunity to gain insights into Jewish life in Bible times, leading to a deeper understanding of the roots of Christianity. The centre-piece is a large (3m x 2m) model of the Jewish Temple in Jesus’ time which is illuminated as various aspects are explained. A model of the desert Tabernacle and artefacts illustrating Jewish life are on display along with authentic costumes brought back from the Middle East over a century ago; some of these costumes are worn for Bible character talks.
Thursday 22 June, 7.30–9.30pm, with talks throughout the evening but especially at 8 and 9pm;
light refreshments available.
Saturday 24 June, 10am–4pm, with special talks at 10.30am, 1.30 and 3.30pm by Paul and Janey Hames who present the exhibition.
